Top 25It is that time of year again—November is flying by, and thousands of anthropologists are gathering to share, learn, explore, discuss, and debate important issues in their field. At UTP, we are thrilled that AAA and CASCA are collaborating for the first time to host a joint conference in beautiful Vancouver, BC.

It has become tradition for Teaching Culture to curate a list of recommended sessions to attend. This is always a difficult task, with hundreds of sessions to choose from, and many competing with each other. However, we hope this list is a helpful guide for those of you who are interested in teaching and pedagogy, as well as ethnographic methods and public anthropology.

In addition to the sessions and installations below, please join us for a glass of wine at the University of Toronto Press booth (#207) from 4-5 pm on Friday for the second annual Celebration of Authors. We will be launching Laura González’s exciting new Through the Lens of Cultural Anthropology and Lochlann Jain’s utterly original Things that Art, as well as celebrating Michael Lambek’s award-winning Island in the Stream (2019 Elliott P. Skinner Book Award). It will be a wonderful opportunity to drink, browse, and catch up with old friends—or make new ones!
