Over the next few months, I hope to share with you some of my experiences and experiments with motivating students in first-year anthropology. Some days, it feels like I’ve tried everything, from Twitter to stickers, and bacon-flavoured crickets to i>Clicker quizzes. I’m always keen to try out options that might generate some interest from students. Teaching Anthropology of/through Games, Part 2
In my last blog post, I described my recent course on “Anthropology of/through Games.” Students in the class played, analyzed, and designed games related to anthropological concepts, and they also used ethnographic techniques such as participant observation and interviews to understand participants’ experiences of games.
