LM150: 2020 Top 25 - Landscape ManagementWhat? November already? We cannot believe how the last two years have flown by. At the same time, it feels like forever since we gathered in Vancouver for AAA. While some of us are excited to reconnect with friends and colleagues in Baltimore this week, others (including yours truly) are opting to attend virtually this year. No matter how you choose to attend, we hope the next four days will be a time for you to have meaningful and generative conversations – and discover exciting new books!

It is a tradition for Teaching Culture to help readers navigate AAA by putting together a list of top sessions for those interested in teaching, public anthropology, and ethnographic methods. This was even more difficult than usual for the hybrid conference this year, with hundreds of on-demand, virtual, and in-person events to choose from. We have done our best to select 10 virtual events and 10 in-person events that will be of interest, plus 5 on-demand talks and podcasts that you can watch or listen to any time. For every event we chose, there are dozens more that we wanted to include – tell us your top picks in the comments!

We will miss unpacking boxes of books in our booth and raising a glass to our authors at our annual book launch. However, you can find our display in the virtual exhibit hall and on our website, where you can use discount code AAA2021 to get $5 off any of our new Teaching Culture ethnographies – including Fat in Four Cultures, Esperanza Speaks, The Living Inca Town, and Collective Care. You can also stop by the virtual exhibit hall on Thursday, November 18, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM to “Talk Now” with us. We would love to say hello!

Hope to see you next year in Seattle!
